Gearbox adapter kit designed to connect BMW M57N / M57N2 engines with aluminium blocks and large bellhousings to newer ZF 8HP 8-speed automatic transmissions. Suitable for engine conversion projects requiring a different BMW transmission.

Important: This adapter is intended for M57N / M57N2 engines with the large bellhousing configuration. It is not intended for first-generation M57 engines with the smaller bellhousing configuration or the 204 HP M57N 306D2 EU3 variant. Verify the exact engine code and gearbox configuration before ordering.

Installation
For ZF 8HP automatic transmissions:
- Uses the original ZF 8HP gearbox torque converter with 6 mounting points
- Required flexplate / starter ring gear: BMW OE 11 22 8 506 670 / 11 22 8 612 144, not included
- No additional torque converter adapter plate is required
General installation requirements:
- Starter motor: Original BMW M57N / M57N2, not included
- Starter OE references: 12 41 2 155 827; 12 41 2 344 232; 12 41 7 788 680; 12 41 7 788 682
- Grinding of the original starter motor housing is required
- Depending on the vehicle, modifications to engine and gearbox mounts, transmission tunnel, firewall or driveshaft length may be required
Important: This kit provides the mechanical connection between the engine and gearbox. It is not a complete conversion solution and does not include vehicle-specific modifications, drivetrain integration or the electronic transmission control system.
Important: Intended for motorsport use. The manufacturer recommends installation by professionals experienced in engine and transmission conversions, using suitable tools and workshop equipment.
