- Description
Lightweight aluminium rigid single-mass flywheel designed for BMW M50 / M52 / M54 / M57 (first generation) / S50 / S52 / S54 engines. Its reduced rotational inertia allows faster changes in engine speed.

Important: This flywheel has a 290 mm ring gear outer diameter and is intended for first-generation M57 engines. It is not compatible with M57N / M57N2 engines requiring a flywheel with a 310 mm ring gear. Verify the engine configuration and ring gear diameter before ordering.
Installation
- Clutch pressure plate: BMW M57, 240 mm
- Clutch disc: 240 mm, with splines matching the gearbox input shaft
- Starter motor: Original, matching the compatible configuration
- Flywheel mounting bolts: M12x1.5x30, grade 12.9, included
- Flywheel bolt tightening torque: 120 Nm with thread-locking adhesive, as specified by the manufacturer
- Clutch pressure plate bolt tightening torque: 23 Nm, as specified by the manufacturer
- When using a second-hand or modified clutch assembly, the manufacturer recommends rebalancing the complete assembly
Important: A single-mass flywheel does not provide the torsional damping of the original dual-mass flywheel. Depending on the engine, clutch and gearbox configuration, mechanical gearbox noise or drivetrain vibrations may occur at idle. These characteristics can be associated with a single-mass flywheel conversion and do not automatically indicate a product defect.
