Engine adapter plate BMW 3.0d M57 - gearbox BMW 8HP/GS6-53DZ

Gearbox adapter kit designed to connect BMW M57 engines with cast-iron blocks and small bellhousings to newer ZF 8HP 8-speed automatic transmissions or ZF GS6 6-speed manual gearboxes. Suitable for M57 engine conversion projects requiring a different BMW transmission.

• CNC-machined aluminium gearbox adapter plate
• Compatible with ZF 8HP automatic transmissions featuring a 6-bolt torque converter mounting pattern
• Supports ZF 8HP transmissions in rear-wheel-drive and xDrive configurations
• Allows the original ZF 8HP torque converter to be used without an additional torque converter adapter plate
• Also supports ZF GS6 manual transmissions when used with a custom flywheel

Installation

For ZF 8HP automatic transmissions:

• Uses the original ZF 8HP gearbox torque converter with 6 mounting points
• Required flexplate / starter ring gear: BMW OE 11 22 8 506 670 / 11 22 8 612 144, not included
• No additional torque converter adapter plate is required

For ZF GS6 manual transmissions:

• Requires a custom flywheel designed for the specific engine and gearbox combination
• The required flywheel is not available from PMC MOTORSPORT

General installation requirements:

• Starter motor: Original BMW M57, not included
• Starter OE references: 12 41 2 179 676; 12 41 2 247 391; 12 41 2 247 492; 12 41 2 344 240
• Grinding of the original starter motor housing is required
• Depending on the vehicle, modifications to engine and gearbox mounts, transmission tunnel, firewall or driveshaft length may be required
